Thirsty Thursday

Tonight on the agenda:

Revo for Latin night and Bart Crow at Brewster street

Revo has it's great college night tonight with Dollar Beer and Dollar bar. Plus with a chill atmosphere it's a good place to swing by on airline.

Bart Crow is a regular visitor to Corpus. Tickets after 8pm at $12 at the door.
If the music is only secondary to you, you can always sit on the outdoor porch. You can still order your beer or drinks and enjoy a casual night out for less.

Twisted Tuesays

Tuesday Night is Girls night around here. Tonight on the menu...

Marqués de Cáceres
A dry white wine that pairs very well with a nice pasta dinner.

Followed by a nice sweet Riesling. This one, Chateau Ste Michelle, is a particular favorite of mine. The transition was to go from dinner to dessert but Riesling is a great for sipping as well. It's sweet and mild so most will enjoy a glass.

And lastly a Port. Marsala Wine from Sicily.

Ports can take you by surprise. This is a type of wine that is combined with a brandy like liquor to stop the fermentation process. It has a warm taste but can be a bit much for those not prepared.

Now after a few glasses of wine, Corpus has a great Tuesday night scene believe it or not. First off to Executive Surf Club for some live music and the $2 pints.
Executive has a good mix of people ranging from the college crowd up to those having a few drinks with the coworkers. One of my favorite staples of the group is an older man that can be seen dancing away in the front of the stage.
Next Fire on Water to sing a little karaoke. Specials are three dollar Jagger and Patron. Plus the bar is always a good spot for reasonably priced beers.
Finally my last stop of the night brought us to Dr. Rockets Blue Bar. The music is an amazing way to end the night and with seven dollar pitchers you can't go wrong.

Event Calander

I hear all the time how there is nothing to do in Corpus.
Perhaps we're not looking.

There is a facebook group that has tried to remedy this by laying out the 40 things to do in Corpus in 2010. It was started by Joe Hilliard, a local radio host and columnist. If you're looking for things to do you might want to check him out.

Another place you might want to look at it the Corpus Christi Community Calendar.
This site has things ranging from plays to live music or even political events.

I'm leaving Corpus in a few months and while I am glad to go, it's good to know there are people out there trying to get the word out that Corpus isn't so boring, if you know where to look.

How to make a Bloody Mary

My favorite cocktail for a Sunday Brunch. Simple How-to from the Easy to follow Howcast.

Welcome!

Hey there,

You've had a long day at the office. You come home and need to relax. What do you reach for? A glass of milk? A bottle of soda?

I don't think so!

Now I ask you friends what about the cocktail? Beers, wine, mixed drinks. It's the spirits that give us spirit. Here I'll discuss the local bar scenes, post recipes and how to videos for making your favorite drinks.

Think of it as Food Network for drunks...
